On a recent inspection I noticed a pronounced “bump”where the electrical service bracket was attached to the roof.
It is very common to see these electrical service wires pulling the restraint brackets off the h0me. These wires sometimes span long distances and can in themselves be quite heavy. Add to them a whole bunch of ice, snow, wind and tree limbs and you can end up with the wire pulling away from the house. Then the sparks can fly. In this next picture you can see the bracket pulling loose from the side of a house.
But, lets get back to my recent inspection. As I was sorting through the possibilities of what was going on I noticed that the wire from the Utility pole was stretched as tight as guitar string and (as you can see in the picture) the pole is leaning away from the home and the wire is acting as if it might be trying to hold the pole up—-or maybe we have a tug o’ war going on. I will bet on the Utility pole.
